International Dance Troupe Thrills Hong Ning Residents.

Hong Ning residents received a special treat ahead of the Chinese New Year when the Hua Xing Art Group put on a performance of traditional Chinese dance on 14th January. The event was arranged by the Shunde Friendship Association and its Chairman, Mr. King Pon.

Those who were lucky enough to witness the occasion included TCA members, TCA Women’s Federation members, Hong Committee members, staff and residents.

The Hua Xing Arts Group is an international organization that seeks to promote Chinese culture and encourages cultural exchanges between East and West.

The dancers performed several routines, splendidly arrayed in different stunningly colourful traditional Chinese costumes. The performers were drawn from different regions of China, emphasising our ethnic diversity.

Sandy Jing Jing Huang, who is also the director of the group, enhanced the event with her solo vocal performance.

Hong Ning’s very own Chef Thabo doubled up as the DJ for the day, playing backing sound tracks and backgound music.

The exceedingly generous Pon family donated lai see (“lucky red envelopes”) to all residents and staff at the home.

Shunde Friendship Association graciously provided a sumptuous lunch, perfectly prepared by Arthur Ma, to cap off a memorable day.

A really massive thank you to Mr. King Pon and the Shunde Friendship Association and the Hua Xing Arts Group for such a wonderful day.

Happy New Year!!
